Last day to drop/add SUM II courses is July 8

Students may drop and add via GoWMU until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 8. If students need to make adjustments after the deadline, departments can assist on Friday, July 9, until 5 p.m. Courses can be added or dropped on that day without academic or financial penalty. After July 9, dropping a class is considered a withdrawal and will show on the academic transcript with a final grade of “W”. Classes can be withdrawn in GoWMU from July 10 to July 26. The refund schedule is listed in the calendar at the bottom of this email.

Preparing for SUM II census

SUM II census will take place Friday, July 9. In preparation, please ensure the correct instructor of record has been entered in Banner for all sections, sections on hold have been canceled or made active and all students attending have been registered so they will be counted (this includes students completing thesis and dissertation hours, independent studies, internships, seminars, etc.).

Admissions recruitment partner spotlight

The Office of Admissions would like to recognize Anthony Helms, interim assistant dean and director of academic advising at the Lee Honors College, as a fantastic recruitment partner. Anthony is one of the most consistent and reliable partners to work with at WMU. He is always willing to help with recruitment and yield efforts in any way that he can.

A few examples include hosting virtual information sessions for prospective students and families, personally communicating with and hosting prospective students, coordinating LHC student outreach to prospective students and making connections among departments across the university to help recruit and yield students. Anthony always has a positive attitude, and we are incredibly grateful to have him as an admissions partner.
