Fall commencement tomorrow
WMU is hosting in-person commencement ceremonies tomorrow to celebrate fall graduates. Ceremonies will be available to livestream at wmich.edu/commencement. Ceremony times are as follows:
- 9 a.m.—College of Arts and Sciences, College of Aviation, Merze Tate College
- 12 p.m.—Haworth College of Business, College of Health and Human Services
- 3 p.m.—College of Education and Human Development, College of Fine Arts, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences

Fall final grades due by noon on Dec. 21
The final grade worksheet is available for grade submission until noon on Tuesday, Dec. 21. Students will not be able to see their grades online until the grade roll process is completed in the Registrar’s Office. This is done shortly after noon on the day grades are due and nightly thereafter.

Student Financial Aid: Holiday recess closure
The Student Financial Aid and Bronco Express offices will be closed for the holiday recess from Friday, Dec. 24, through Monday, Jan. 3. Services will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4. During the closure, emails to Financial Aid will NOT be processed. Emails will be considered received as of Jan. 4 and will be processed within three to five business days.
Students may check the status of their awards at any time using GoWMU. Financial aid for the spring semester should begin to pay out to WMU student accounts after 5 p.m. on Jan. 4 (assuming all requirements are met). Electronic refunds should begin to disburse beginning Thursday, Jan. 6. Refund checks will be mailed beginning Wednesday, Jan. 12.
Planning for Orientation 2022 is currently underway
All orientation sessions will be in person this year. Registration opens on Friday, January 28. Check the Office of Student Transitions website in late January for more details.
Spring semester begins Jan. 10; last day to drop/add is Jan. 14
Students may drop and add via GoWMU until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14. If students need to make adjustments after the deadline, departments can assist on Tuesday, Jan. 18, until 5 p.m. Courses can be added or dropped on that day without academic or financial penalty.
After Jan. 18, dropping a class is considered a withdrawal and will show on transcripts with a grade of "W". Courses can be withdrawn in GoWMU from Jan. 19 to March 21. The refund schedule is listed in the calendar at the bottom of this email.
