June 23, 2023
Welcome, Alexis Buyce!
We are excited to welcome our new business manager associate, Alexis Buyce, to the Office of Enrollment Management. Alexis started on June 5, which also happened to be her birthday! Alexis is an alumna of WMU who graduated on Dec. 13, 2014, and we are glad to have her back on campus.
Here are a few fun facts from Alexis:
- I have a passion for interior decorating and home organization.
- I’m an adrenaline junkie and love anything extreme (for the most part).
- I’m obsessed with Paris, France. This would be my dream vacation.
New Student Orientation is underway
As of Tuesday, June 20, and 12 sessions, just over 2,000 students (beginners and transfers) have attended Orientation. We still have three two-day sessions in June and three one-day programs between July and August where we are expecting another 1,000+ students to participate. Thank you to everyone for your support of Orientation, our new students and their families.

Updates from Admissions
Admissions is still accepting applications for fall
There is still time for prospective first-year and transfer students to apply to enroll for the fall semester. First-year applicants have until July 24 to submit a completed application, and transfer students need to submit all documents by Aug. 15. Interested students should be encouraged to start at wmich.edu/apply.
Next steps for admitted students
Admitted first-year students should let us know they plan to attend Western by confirming their admission in their Gold Gateway account as soon as possible.* Once a student confirms their admission and submits their $100 enrollment deposit (or an approved waiver), they are able to register for orientation.
If you are working with incoming students, please encourage them to visit their Gold Gateway account to view a personalized list of next steps at wmich.edu/goldgateway.
