Orientation concludes; Fall Welcome is underway

The Office of Student Transitions would like to thank the campus community for their help with welcoming over 3,100 new beginner and transfer students at Orientation this summer. The final in-person Orientation session will take place on Monday, Aug. 28.

Students' transition to the university continues this week with Fall Welcome. Students began moving in yesterday, and the program concludes before Bronco Bash on Tuesday, Aug. 29. At Fall Welcome, students will be in a group with their peers and an upper-level leader, attend academic and social events and learn their way around campus. Learn more about the program.

Did you know? A fun fact from the Registrar...

The Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) policy, adopted by the Faculty Senate in 2020, is a process for evaluating prior learning, as acquired through previous work experience, training, course products or other learning experiences, and awarding college credit when those experiences align with specific requirements and learning outcomes.

Three colleges are currently assigning credit for prior learning: College of Aviation, College of Education and Human Development and Haworth College of Business. As of today:

  • 79 students have received credit for prior learning.
  • 542 credit hours have been awarded.
  • 87% of the credits have been at the graduate level.
  • Credit has been given in 50 different courses.

For more information regarding PLA, please see MOA 20/01 and MOA 20/02.
