Welcome, Becca Sly!

We’d like to introduce Becca Sly, the newest member of the Office of Institutional Research! Becca started Aug. 23 as our new business intelligence analyst but has been with the University for four years as a market research analyst in WMUx. Becca brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm for research and a skillset perfectly suited to IR. We look forward to her many great contributions to our team and her continued service to the University. Welcome aboard, Becca!

Admissions Open Houses

The Office of Admissions, along with many campus partners, invites prospective students and families to campus for one of four Open House programs:

  • Friday, Oct. 6 (honors only)
  • Friday, Oct. 27
  • Friday, Nov. 3
  • Friday, Dec. 1

Attendees will explore academic areas of interest, tour campus academic and living spaces with a current Bronco and engage with staff and students about scholarships, student life and support services. Please encourage interested students to register at wmich.edu/admissions/openhouse.

Admissions and the Lee Honors College will host prospective honors students for an Honors Open House on Friday, Oct. 6. Students can learn more at wmich.edu/admissions/honorsopenhouse.

Reminder: Oct. 1 is the deadline for April 2024 graduation applications

We are approaching the Oct. 1 deadline for students to apply for April 2024 graduation. Once the deadline has passed, students may submit a late application for an additional fee or apply for the next available graduation term. Please contact John Scott with questions.

Waldo Library research carrel applications

Faculty and graduate students can apply to use a research carrel for one academic year. Graduate students must provide a letter from a faculty member or the Dean of the Graduate College, supporting the research nature of the request, along with their application. Incomplete applications or applications without a detailed description will not be considered. Applications are accepted online. Carrels will be assigned as they become available. Carrel assignments run through the end of the 2023-24 academic year in mid-June 2024.

Spring 2024 course offerings open for viewing Oct. 9; registration begins Oct. 23

There are two ways to view course offerings: Course Lookup and goWMU.

Students may withdraw from fall courses until Oct. 30

The drop/add period concluded earlier this week. Dropping a course is now considered a withdrawal and will show on transcripts with a grade of "W". Courses can be withdrawn in goWMU until Oct. 30.

Note: A 24-hour grace period is provided to students who drop a course that meets for the first time on or after the end of the drop/add period. Students dropping a course within 24 hours of the start date should be encouraged to contact the Registrar's Office to make sure they receive the correct refund.

Did you know? A fun fact from the Registrar...

More than 5,000 eligible students have received targeted communication regarding the April 2024 graduation application deadline.
