The Palgrave Handbook of Educational Thinkers is a comprehensive reference work that highlights the profound impact of key figures who have shaped educational theory and practice across the globe.

The handbook, edited by Dr. Brett Geier, professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology (ELRT), offers an unparalleled exploration of the seminal thinkers in education. Dr. Regina Garza Mitchell, a distinguished section editor and fellow ELRT professor, played a crucial role in curating this collection of insights and legacies.

Among the featured contributors of the handbook are 16 scholars from Western: Catherine Conners, Henry Curcio, Dr. Mary Ebejer, Dr. LaSonja Roberts, Eva Hughes, Shaya Helbig, Dr. Julian Vasquez Heilig, co-editor Dr. Regina Garza Mitchell, Dr. Laura Teichert, Dr. Ramona Lewis, Dr. Louann Bierlein Palmer, Sean Gaffney, Steven Way, Garyle Voss, Hannah Garrod, and Dr. David Szabla.

This groundbreaking volume captures the professional backgrounds and influential contributions of legendary educational figures. It presents a rich tapestry of ideas and innovations, balanced by gender, geographical and disciplinary diversity. Noteworthy is a chapter that profiles Dr. Julian Vasquez Heilig, WMU's provost and vice president for academic affairs.

"The publication of this handbook represents a major scholarly achievement and reflects the ongoing commitment of WMU to advancing the field of education through rigorous research and collaboration," says Geier.

"We are thrilled to present a work that not only honors the legacies of historical and contemporary educational figures but also offers a vital resource for educators, researchers, and students worldwide incorporating diverse thoughts."
