"When I visited Western Michigan University for the first time, it felt like I found the place for me. They gave me the option to double major in sport management and journalism."
I chose sport management because sports have always been a huge part of my life along with social media so I decided to combine those for my future and sport management was what I came up with.
Growing up I played basketball, softball, soccer, and I danced. When I got to high school , I played volleyball and tennis.
Deb Droppers is one of the instructors in the sport and event management programs. While she has tried to convince me to switch to events, she is super knowledgeable and is very helpful in getting real world experience.
I am not entirely sure yet but I would love to be a part of the media team for a professional organization, preferably hockey.
I am a part of our sport and event management club in which we have guest speakers and put on events. I am also the Lead Sports Reporter for the student run newspaper, the Western Herald.
When I visited for the first time, it felt like I found the place for me. It was the last school I toured and the CEHD ambassadors at the time spoke very highly about the school, which swayed my decision.
