Associate professor inducted into Marquis' Who's Who for top professors in Michigan
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Dr. Wanda Hadley, associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology in the College of Education and Human Development, was recently inducted into Marquis Who's Who in America's 2024 society of the State of Michigan's Top Professors.
The Who's Who list recognizes professors who are impacting their field through their research and scholarship. The Marquis Who's Who in America's publication presents information of the lives of today's leaders and achievers from the United States and around the world.
"I'm surprised and honored," says Hadley. "I'm happy my work is making a difference in the lives of students and being recognized by Marquis."
Hadley is a licensed counselor and was director of counseling centers at a number of universities before her current role as associate professor at WMU. Her research focuses on the academic and emotional issues first-year students with learning disabilities experience in their transition from high school to college. In her research, she has worked with neurodivergent student populations, students diagnosed with autism, and students diagnosed with other learning-related disabilities such as dyslexia (reading concerns), dysgraphia (written language disorder) and dyscalculia (mathematical skills).
This summer, Hadley will be presenting at a conference in Barcelona, Spain to discuss students with autism transitioning to higher education. She will also be presenting to a conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands to discuss mental health issues and college students with learning disabilities.
"It is so exciting to present my work on the international stage!" adds Hadley.
