Fall 2016 registration

The fall 2016 schedule opened for viewing this morning. Students can search for available courses through GoWMU or on the public course offerings website. Courses can be searched using any combination of campus, instructional method, subject, instructor, or course number.

Fall registration begins Monday, March 14. The priority schedule can be found on the Registrar's Office website.

Textbook requisitions

All summer I, summer II, and fall textbook orders need to be submitted as soon as possible to keep WMU compliant with the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008. According to the Act, institutions of higher education must provide required and recommended textbook information with their published course offerings.

As of last Thursday, only 68% of summer I and summer II textbook requisitions have been completed. 2,918 fall 2016 sections still need a textbook assigned, putting us only at 22% compliance.

A new faculty requisition system is now available through eLearning. February 29 will be the last day that the existing system will be live.

Re-authorization

March is right around the corner and along with it, system re-authorization.  As you may remember, the semi-annual process is now electronic through GoWMU.  The EMAS and TouchNet systems have been added to the re-authorization process this year.  Re-authorization now encompasses the following systems:

  • Banner INB
  • Banner SSB
  • Banner SSN
  • Banner Res Flag
  • Cognos
  • Degree Works
  • EMAS
  • Hobsons Apply Yourself
  • Hobsons App Review
  • ImageNow
  • WebNow
  • PeopleSoft HR
  • PeopleSoft Financials
  • Touchnet Bill Paying
  • Touchnet Cashiering
  • Touchnet Market Place

On March 1, all users and their supervisors will receive an email notifying them that re-authorization has started. Employees will have until March 15 to complete the re-authorization process. Supervisors will be able to process approvals through March 17.
