February 21, 2020

Beginning March 13, the Registrar Notes will be expanded to include messaging from all areas of Enrollment Management, including Admissions, Student Financial Aid, Office of Student Transitions and Precollege Programming. We will continue to send emails every other week via the Registrar's Office email address.

December graduation application extension

The deadline to apply for December 2020 graduation has been extended. Students now have until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 13, to apply to graduate in December. This is a one-time exception to help students as we transition to the new Feb. 1 deadline. SUM I and II application deadlines will not be extended.

Spring midterm grades now due March 9

The Feb. 24 deadline has been extended to Monday, March 9. Grades can be entered in GoWMU using the Midterm Grade Worksheet. Grades can also be reported through D2L. Additional information on midterm grading, as well as instructions on how to submit midterm grades via Elearning, can be found on our webpage.

Last day for students to withdraw from spring classes is March 16

GoWMU will be available for students to withdraw until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 16. Students with a registration hold who are unable to use GoWMU may request a withdrawal through the Registrar's Office until 5 p.m. We will share this information with all registered students via email next week.

Transcript fulfillment process is now automated

With help from the Office of Information Technology and our transcript vendor, Parchment, the transcript fulfillment process has recently been automated. The process for students to submit a request through Parchment remains the same, however, Parchment now validates the data entered by the student against information in Banner. If there are no holds, the transcript is automatically produced and securely delivered in real-time. If a transcript hold exists, the student is automatically sent an email letting them know the hold type and the phone number of the appropriate office to contact. This new functionality has significantly reduced the time it takes for students to receive their transcript. Electronic transcripts are now delivered in minutes, even when WMU is closed.

Did you know? A fun fact from the Registrar...

451 transcripts have been fulfilled since the Parchment automation was launched on Feb. 10.
