Enrollment Management is wishing farewell
Dr. Charles Cotton would like to share that Heather Rood, business manager associate for Enrollment Management, will be transitioning to a new role within WMUx, serving as their business manager associate. While it is sad to see Heather go, we are appreciative of her service not only to Enrollment Management (8 years) but also her continued service to WMU (12 years). As you are able, please wish Heather well as she prepares for her transition to WMUx effective Friday, March 3.
Seeking volunteers to call admitted students
The Office of Admissions is searching for volunteers to participate in the 2023 Bronco2Bronco Call Campaign, which is an outreach initiative to admitted students of color. Previously, there have been more than 45 volunteers from various departments and academic colleges throughout the University who, along with admissions staff, were able to complete over 1,500 phone calls within one week.
The goals of the Bronco2Bronco Call Campaign are:
- To encourage admitted students to move forward in their next steps to enrollment.
- To make students of color feel welcome.
- To let students know that the University community is ready and prepared to help them pursue their passions, thrive while here and be successful in their future careers.
We would like to invite individuals to join our outreach campaign again this year and, for those who are considering, please know that your involvement in this endeavor will make a great impact on our enrollment. We believe it takes our entire campus to make every student feel welcome and included. The call campaign will be segmented by academic college, and calls will begin the week of March 13. If you are interested in participating, please email Anthony Perez.

Summer camp information from Precollege Programming
An important memo regarding 2023 summer camps went out to faculty and staff conducting youth outreach. Included in this memo is a reminder to register your summer camps, as well as important policy information. Registering your summer camp or any youth program throughout the year is required per WMU's Minors on Campus Policy.
The Office of Precollege Programming is sharing this memo as one of many of our commitments to ensure all members of our community are supported and informed. A copy of this memo can be found on our website. If there is anything we can assist you all with, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Additionally, the Office of Precollege Programming will be offering a Summer Camp Bootcamp event for faculty and staff coordinating summer camps. This event is not required, but participation would count as your policy training (which is required as part of WMU’s Minors on Campus Policy). Summer Camp Bootcamp will cover the following topics:
- Minors on Campus Policy
- Best Practices for Managing Student Behavior
- Strategies for Student Engagement
- Emergency Management, Recruitment
- Community Partnerships
