Welcome, Dr. Randy Ott!

We are excited to welcome Dr. Randy Ott, senior director of academic collaboration, to Enrollment Management. Randy is a 20+ year employee of WMU coming to us from Merze Tate College and he officially transitioned on Jan. 5. While a long-time partner of Enrollment Management, we are grateful to now have him as an official member of the team! In the transition, Randy will maintain his responsibilities to WMU Essential Studies and community college partnerships.

Randy is a two-time alum of WMU who enjoys golfing and going to the SRC. In his spare time, he is a reservist in the U.S. Navy.

Updates from Student Financial Aid

The U.S. Department of Education announced that the processing of 2024-25 FAFSAs will be delayed until mid-March, meaning students will receive their financial aid offer letter by the end of March/early April. We understand students and families are anxiously awaiting news about their financial aid and we are working hard to get information out promptly. Please visit wmich.edu/finaid/apply on what students can do now to prepare for the upcoming year!

Work-study cancellations begin Feb. 23

Spring federal work-study recipients must have earnings charged to their fall work-study offers by Friday, Feb. 23, or those offers will be canceled. If a student has been hired but will not be paid through work-study until after this date, the student or the employer must notify Student Financial Aid before the Feb. 23 deadline. Emails received after Feb. 23 may not be considered and once an offer has been canceled it may not be reinstated.

Summer registration is underway

Priority registration concludes today at noon. Course offerings can be accessed via goWMU or the WMU Course Offerings page.

Security re-authorization concludes Feb. 16

Supervisors will have through Friday, Feb. 23, to approve or deny re-authorization requests. Security re-authorization allows the Registrar's Office to audit access to critical computer systems used at WMU and to ensure that users are familiar with the latest policies. Questions should be directed to the Registrar's Office at (269) 387-4300.

Fall course offerings available Feb. 26; registration opens March 11

Fall 2023 grading is closed

Grading for the fall 2023 semester has been closed. Students who were not issued a grade by the instructor have been given an incomplete. Instructors can remove the "I" grade using the "Removal of Incomplete Grade/Change of Grade" form found via the "Faculty/Advisor Self-Service" app in goWMU.

Did you know? A fun fact from the Registrar...

Nearly 2,000 summer and fall 2024 graduation applications were submitted by the Feb. 1 deadline. As of this morning, our auditing team has completed audits for 55% of applicants!
