A resume or curriculum vitae (CV) is required; please submit within the online application system.
Graduate test
This program does not require a graduate test.
Note: International applicants may have to provide evidence of English language proficiency. More information can be found within the online application.
Recommendations
This program requires three recommendations. References should be persons familiar with your artistic abilities who can discuss your artwork, critical and conceptual thinking capabilities, work habits, and potential for graduate study in art. Please send email requests for such recommendations from within the online system.
Written statement
Submit a statement outlining your goals for graduate study, your interest in the media(s) you plan to study, the thematic concerns and form(s) present in your current artwork, and the artists and theories that have been influential. (1-2 pages)
Previous written work
This program does not require any previous written work be submitted.
Other program materials
Upload a portfolio of 20 examples of artistic work with size and material descriptions submitted as a single PDF.
Transcript requirement
An official transcript from the institution from which you received your bachelor degree is required, as well as a transcript from the institution(s) where any additional graduate level courses or degrees have been taken/completed. Applicants are not required to submit an official transcript of courses taken/completed at WMU.
