Research Poster Day

Seventeenth Annual Research, innovation and Creative Scholarship Graduate Poster Presentation

Why Participate

This is a great opportunity for WMU graduate students to promote university scholarship and be recognized for their research. It is also a great way to gain experience in giving presentations that can be listed on your resume and/or CV. Prizes for outstanding presentations will be announced the day of the event.

When to Participate

The Research, Innovation and Creative Scholarship Graduate Poster Day will take place on Thursday, April 11 at Waldo Library, from 9 a.m. to noon. Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. to set up your poster.  The award ceremony will begin at noon in the Graduate Student Commons (room 3028).

Time Commitment

Students should be present to set up for their poster presentation at 8:30 a.m. on April 11. Judging will take place between 9 and 11:45 a.m., and students must be present to make oral presentations in support of their projects . Students are invited to stay after judging for an award presentation.

Responsibilities

WMU graduate students engaged in research will create visual poster displays outlining a research project of their choosing. Collaborative posters that include more than one student are welcome, although only one prize per poster will be awarded.

Students will discuss their poster with at least two judges selected to critique their work.

Nominations

WMU graduate students wishing to participate in the Annual Research Poster Presentation Day should contact their department chair or graduate advisor. The department chair, graduate advisor, or designated departmental individual must submit the department’s nominations to Paige Warner, Graduate College, paige.warner@wmich.edu.
