The Department of Biological Sciences at Western Michigan University encompasses a variety of disciplines that involve the study of living matter in all of its wonderfully diverse forms.
The department strives to provide an environment that fosters excitement and curiosity about the life sciences. Our programs prepare students to function as productive members of the academic, as well as private and public, scientific communities.
The College of Arts and Sciences at Western Michigan University offers several opportunities for you to get a head start on your graduate degree while enrolled as an undergraduate. Through WMU’s Accelerated Graduate Degree Program, students meeting certain criteria can enroll in up to 12 credit hours of designated 5000- and 6000-level courses for graduate credit. These designated courses may be used in completion of both the bachelor’s and master’s degree.
