Application deadlines

Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV)
A resume or curriculum vitae (CV) is required; please submit within the online application system.
Department requests that the resume or curriculum vitae (CV) indicates all prior teaching and experience(s) with individuals with or at-risk for disabilities
Graduate test
This program does not require a graduate test.
Note: International applicants may have to provide evidence of English language proficiency. More information can be found within the online application.
Recommendations
This program requires three recommendation letters. Be certain that persons who are knowledgeable of your academic work and/or your professional experience to date fill out the recommendation forms, e.g. professors, employers, supervisors. Please send email requests for such recommendation from within the online system.
Written statement
- Please prepare a statement that addresses the following information, and attach it to the online application.
State the special education endorsement you are seeking: emotional impairment (EI), or learning disabilities (LD).
Identify if you currently hold a teaching certificate and, if so, list which teaching certificate you currently hold and from what state.
Summarize your prior related professional experiences to date (e.g., teaching experience, experience working with individuals with or at-risk for disabilities, etc.).
Identify your professional goals, explaining why a special education degree is sought.
Previous Written Work
This program does not require any previous written work be submitted.
Other program materials
Upload a copy of any teacher certification or endorsements you currently hold, if applicable. If you do not currently hold a teacher certification or endorsement, upload a description of your work and/or volunteer experience(s) working with children or adolescents, including the approximate number of hours and population of children served.
Transcript requirement
An official transcript from the institution from which you received your bachelor degree is required, as well as a transcript from the institution(s) where any additional graduate level courses or degrees have been taken/completed. Applicants are not required to submit an official transcript of courses taken/completed at WMU.
