A resume or curriculum vitae (CV) is required; please submit within the online application system.
Graduate test
This program does not require a graduate test.
Note: International applicants may have to provide evidence of English language proficiency. More information can be found within the online application.
Recommendations
This program requires three recommendation letters. Be certain that persons who are knowledgeable of your academic work and/or your professional experience to date fill out the recommendation forms, e.g. professors, employers, supervisors. Please send email requests for such recommendation from within the online system.
Written statement
Please prepare a statement which covers the following information, and attach it within the online application:
This program is for certified teachers with at least one endorsement in special education; or those with teaching or related certifications (behavior specialist track only).
In three (3) typed, double-spaced pages or less, address the following areas: (1) State which endorsement or specialty you are pursuing: emotional impairments (EI), learning disabilities (LD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or behavior intervention; (2) List which professional certificate(s) you currently hold from what state; (3) List which special education endorsements you already hold; (4) Summarize your prior professional experiences to date; and (5) Identify your professional goals, explaining why an additional special education degree is sought.
Previous written work
This program does not require any previous written work be submitted.
Other program materials
Upload a copy of your teaching certificate. For current WMU undergraduates applying to the Accelerated MA, this is not required.
Transcript requirement
An official transcript from the institution from which you received your bachelor degree is required, as well as a transcript from the institution(s) where any additional graduate level courses or degrees have been taken/completed. Applicants are not required to submit an official transcript of courses taken/completed at WMU.
