Dr. Joyce Kubiski is an Associate Professor of Art History at Western Michigan University's Gwen Frostic School of Art. Joyce joined the Frostic School of Art in 1994.
Dr. Kubiski teaches a wide variety of art history coursework including Greek and Roman, medieval and Italian renaissance and seminars in medieval manuscript illumination, book arts, the body in art and death in art. Her research focuses on French and Italian manuscript illumination from the 14th to the 16th centuries, portraiture, representations of the body, and issues of costume and identity. She is currently working on the role of Greek and Ottoman dress in Quattrocentro Florentine painting.
