- Adriane Little, Professor in the Frostic School of Art, won the 29th Arizona International Film Festival Award for Best Experimental Short, for her video Little Ghost Girl.
- Metals BFA student Vicki Cook won a Midwest Metalsmiths Merit Scholarship.

Dr. William Charland, Associate Professor of Art has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the Art Education Journal, a publication of the National Art Education Association. He will serve from 2018 – 2021. In another capacity, Dr. Charland will serve as chairperson of an international review panel that has been invited by Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, to conduct a study of its art education program.
