Martin Burch is a part-time instructor of art at Western Michigan University's Gwen Frostic School of Art where he teaches courses in graphic design and foundations. From 1999 to 2005, he worked in a variety of media as a graphic designer for Herman Miller, Inc. He is the principal at his firm Utility Design, where he works as a graphic designer, filmmaker, illustrator, and photographer in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His clients include Western Michigan University, the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute, the Grand Rapids Ballet Company, State Senator Sean McCann, Serv-U-Success, Congressional Candidate Don Cooney, the Kalamazoo County Democratic Party, Retro Kalamazoo, Station 66, and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. He is currently the art director for the Association for Behavior Analysis International. Martin's areas of focus include typography, branding and identity design, photography, and print media. His work has appeared in Creativity and Print Magazines.
