Caitlin Zachow is an instructor of ceramics and a current M.F.A. candidate at Western Michigan University’s Gwen Frostic School of Arts, joining the program in 2023. Her sculptural work focuses on themes of memory and exploration with an overarching focus on storytelling. Born and raised in Michigan, she is heavily inspired by place, nature, and setting and how these relate to self-identity. She received her B.F.A. with a concentration in ceramics and her B.A. in psychology from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI in 2021. She has been a short-term artist in residence at the Red Lodge Clay Center, and a resident turned assistant instructor with the Visitors Center Artist Camp in Ewen, MI, helping to teach artists how to harvest and process wild clays.
