The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences is one of the largest and oldest academic departments at Western Michigan University. The department is internationally recognized for its scholarly excellence. Our mathematics faculty maintains a strong reputation for scholarship through an impressive level of research and grant activity.
The College of Arts and Sciences at Western Michigan University offers several opportunities for you to get a head start on your graduate degree while enrolled as an undergraduate. Through WMU’s Accelerated Graduate Degree Program, students meeting certain criteria can enroll in up to 12 credit hours of designated 5000- and 6000-level courses for graduate credit. These designated courses may be used in completion of both the bachelor’s and master’s degree.
