Flyers and Posters in Waldo Library Policy

All persons who wish to post flyers or posters throughout University Libraries must first obtain permission from the Info Center, located just inside the Student Center's west entrance. Individuals are responsible for posting their own flyers or posters in the designated area in Waldo Library.

How to get started

  1. Take your posters to the Student Center's Info Center and have all copies approved and stamped.
  2. Post one copy to the bulletin board inside Waldo Library using thumb tacks or staples only.
  3. Library staff will remove outdated, unapproved or extra copies of flyers.
  4. Flyers or posters may remain posted for up to one month maximum.

Who can post flyers or posters?

Western Michigan University students, RSOs, staff, faculty and members of the community may post approved flyers or posters.

What can be posted?

Flyers and posters up to 11 X 17” that are approved and stamped by the Student Center's Info Center. Flyers and posters for WMU department sponsored events or activities may not require an approval stamp.

Where can I post flyers and posters?

Waldo Library has one bulletin board that is available for approved postings. Loose papers or postings attached to other surfaces will be discarded. The bulletin board is located on the first floor near the rotunda/public computers entrance.

How are flyers or posters removed?

All approved flyers and posters will be removed by library staff after the related event or activity is completed. All approved flyers and posters are eligible to remain on library bulletin boards for up to one month maximum. Unapproved flyers or posters will be removed immediately at the library’s discretion.

What is considered an unapproved flyer or poster?

A flyer or poster is considered unapproved if it does not have an approval stamp from the Student Center's Info Center or does not comply with Western Michigan University’s Posting and Distributing Written Materials on Campus Policy. Unapproved flyers or posters will be removed immediately.

The University Libraries reserves the right to remove postings for any reason and are not responsible for damaged or missing flyers or posters.
