Document Delivery

We provide electronic delivery of journal articles and book chapters available through University Libraries. This is free to all Western Michigan University faculty, staff and students.

Placing a request

Use your Interlibrary Loan account to request delivery of documents. You will get an email when your material is available. To retrieve articles, sign in to your Interlibrary Loan account. Your article will be listed under Electronically Received Articles on the Main Menu page. Click on the Details button or the article title to view the article.

Any items not available at the University Libraries will automatically be requested from another library through Interlibrary Loan.

Don't have an Interlibrary Loan account? Sign in with your Bronco NetID and password. You'll automatically be asked to create a new Interlibrary Loan account.

Delivery timing

Materials will be provided within one to two business days. It may take longer if the item has to be requested through Interlibrary Loan from another library.

Cost

Document delivery is FREE! However, items ordered through Interlibrary Loan may involve a fee. We’ll pay the first $15 of every request. You are responsible for anything over that.

We will send you an email seeking approval for charges before proceeding with the request. You can approve a charge by resubmitting your canceled request under History in the Interlibrary Loan system and indicating the amount you are willing to pay in the Notes field of the request.
