Internships

Internships for WMU students

We offer a small number of paid internships each year at our Waldo Library and Zhang Legacy Collections Center locations. These internships provide WMU students with an opportunity to gain professional experience that can translate to their resumes. Internships may be offered across a variety of library areas. Students from any field of study are welcome to apply.

All student internships through the University Libraries are posted on Handshake. Open internships are posted throughout the year as they become available.

Internships for librarianship students

We occasionally offer paid graduate internships to students enrolled in an American Library Association-accredited MLS, MLIS or MSI graduate program. These internships provide students with valuable academic library experience through the planning and implementing of a specific project or set of well-defined activities that advance the mission of the library. Graduate internships may be offered across all library areas.
