Student Exhibit Submission
Calling all student artists and researchers! Western Michigan University students are invited to submit creative and research works for exhibit in Waldo Library.
Any two-dimensional visual works created by WMU undergraduate or graduate students—whether for a class, for research, or just for fun—are eligible for display, provided they meet the criteria.
Fall 2025 exhibit
Selected students notified: Tuesday, April 29, 2025
Selected works dropped off: Aug. 27 – Sept. 3, 2025
Exhibit debuts: Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025
- Submission was created at least in part by a WMU student (includes undergraduate and graduate students).
- Submission has not been previously included in this exhibit. This includes posters that were featured in the summer graduate student poster winners exhibit. We will prioritize new applicants over artists and researchers whose work we have already included.
- Size: Posters must measure at least 11x17 inches, and the maximum size we can accept varies to accommodate other submitted works. Mounted artwork must not exceed 4 feet (1.2 meters) in height or width. There is no minimum size for mounted artwork.
- Submission is in good condition for display: Artwork must include hanging hardware on the back. Posters must be free of tears and creases.
- Submission adheres to all applicable University policies.
- Poster, researcher statement, or artist statement contain minimal to no spelling or grammar errors.
- For posters: Poster effectively communicates the message to the intended audience; visuals enhance communication of the content.
- For artwork: Artist statement is well articulated and concisely describes the objective or significance of the work.
- In the event that there are more submissions than we are able to display, we will select items to create a balanced exhibit.
- Students whose submissions are not selected may be given the opportunity to automatically resubmit in the following semester (subject to meeting acceptance criteria).
Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. See this page for our next exhibit's close date.
