Ryan Vaughn creates sports network for middle and high school sports

Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Varsity News Network is the largest and fastest growing network connecting people with middle and high school sports. The company's product is a turnkey content production platform, facilitating the digital communication of more than 1,500 schools nationwide. The technology offers solutions for schools looking for easy-to-use, time-saving communication channels, giving communities one place to find interactive information about schedules, scores and teams. The company offers multiple technologies customizable to a team or community’s individual needs, including the desktop accessible Sportshub, Mobile Sportshub, Pressbox, VNN Alerts and Scheduler.
Vaughn, who received a Bachelor of Arts degree from WMU in 2006, has expertise in sales and product management, digital marketing, and human-centered design and fundraising. In addition to his degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing from WMU, Vaughn has a master's degree in communication from Grand Valley State University and is a graduate of the NewNorth Center for Design in Business in Holland.
Vaughn will speak on Friday, January 15 at the Entrepreneurship Forum speaker series at WMU’s Haworth College of Business. The Entrepreneurship Forum is a monthly series is designed to bring stories of entrepreneurial success to the greater Kalamazoo community. The series is devoted to entrepreneurs and unique stories of startup success.
