Employee spotlight: Andy Kaliyati

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The University Libraries is excited to welcome Andy Kaliyati to our User Services team.

Kaliyati’s new role as Coordinator, User Services, will focus on managing evening and weekend services to ensure students have a productive environment for late-night study. As a Bronco alum, Kaliyati is bringing his experience as a former student employee and supervisor to the role.

“Being on both sides helped me a lot because it makes it easier for me to assist students with whatever they need since I was in their shoes,” Kaliyati says.

As he starts his new position, Kaliyati expressed excitement about new challenges and responsibilities as a full-time employee.

“I like assisting patrons and working on projects to improve the library. I also like the overall environment of a library since it is a safe space for everyone.”
