Equipment Library supports student success
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Our Equipment Library gives students access to the tools, equipment and technology they need for class projects and campus life.
Some items, like phone and laptop chargers, offer convenience for students with busy schedules and low batteries. Our sewing machines and tool kits help students at home with repairs and craft projects.
We’ve seen more demand for our 4K video camera, DSLR camera, laptops, and other equipment to support media projects. A student recently used our document cameras to magnify physical books and prints, which helped them complete their assignments.
“They were incredibly pleased as they had been considering ordering a device for home use,” said Brandon Meissner, manager, User Services. “They said we saved them hundreds of dollars by offering the device.”
We plan to continue expanding our offerings based on student feedback, focusing on high-demand or high-cost items such as laptops and other equipment.
