Virtual reality (VR) offers significant potential in the areas of teaching, learning and research. The VR Lab in Waldo Library at Western Michigan University provides a space for you to explore this technology.

Experience VR at one of 10 stations in our Virtual Reality Lab through a Meta Quest all-in-one headset. Headsets can be used wirelessly for greater freedom or wired to a PC for additional graphics capability.

Numerous titles are installed to highlight some of the technology’s potential.

Software and other learning tools are available to make your own VR content. You may also bring your own content developed elsewhere to test in the Lab.

Hours and location

  • Hours Sunday: 5-9pm / Monday-Thursday: 9am-9pm / Friday: 9am-7pm / Saturday: Closed

  • Location Lower level of Waldo Library. Check in at Tech Lab desk.

  • Lab Reservations The whole VR Lab can be reserved for educational usage.
