F45 updates and new guidelines (COVID-19 Response)
As the SRC continues to evaluate the situation with the COVID-19 we would like to update you with the building hours and programming that we have available during the campus closure. Below is a letter with updates and changes to the F45 program. We ask that all F45 members please read the letter and follow the new guidelines. Members will be able to sign-up and reserve their spots for tomorrow's class over the phone. Space is limited for classes to support social distancing and to also allow for additional cleaning.
Dear F45 Family:
As the situation of COVID-19 evolves, our staff has been working hard to determine how to provide recreational opportunities for the WMU community and keep everyone safe. One of the most difficult programs to modify has been F45 since it is such a popular program and utilizes a lot of shared equipment. We have also been waiting on F45 headquarters to provide suggestions for modifications to the program and workouts while still allowing us to continue to offer the experience our F45 family has come to expect.
Today, we received some guidelines and changes from F45 headquarters to help us continue to provide F45 programming for you. Based on these recommendations, the following changes will be implemented beginning Monday, March 16:
- Classes will only be offered Monday through Friday at 12:15 p.m. and Monday through Thursday at 5:20 p.m.
- Class capacities will be reduced to have no more than two people per station and sometimes a station between each group.
- Rest periods between stations will be increased to allow participants time to clean their equipment before moving to the next station.
- While we love to give hi-fives to each other, the use of hi-fives has been suspended. We encourage everyone to find alternatives to hi-fives, such as elbow bumps, air hi-fives, etc.
- If you are sick or have any symptoms of sickness, please refrain from attending F45 class and coming to the SRC.
- Please wash your hands for at least 20 seconds prior to entering the studio for class. Hand sanitizer is also provided right outside the studio.
- All participants will be required to bring a towel to class for assistance with collecting sweat and wiping down equipment after use.
- The purchase of day passes for F45 has been suspended and classes will be limited to F45 members only.
- Our class reservation policy has been updated to allow members to reserve their space in class by phone the day prior instead of requiring reservations to be made in person. Members can call the SRC service desk up to 30 minutes prior to the start of class to reserve a spot. Any members that have not checked in 10 minutes prior to the start of class may have their spot forfeited and given to someone else that might be waiting for a spot in class.
- Our mobile app and social media sites will have information posted on class capacities for the week. The SRC mobile app is available in the Google Play and Apple stores by searching for “WMU SRC”. The class capacity will be listed with the title in the daily schedule.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these unprecedented times to continue to bring you the high-quality F45 programming that you have come to expect. We will continue to assess the situation on a daily basis and keep you updated of any changes.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Yours in functional training,
Beth and Chris
