  12. Cost: the program fee is $480 including 1credit tuition fee, all local expense in China, visa fees, insurance, except international airfare. Sichuan University will cover two-week local cost plus airfare from Beijing to Chengdu.
  13. Description

Study Engineering in China is designed to provide a unique opportunity for students to obtain global engineering experience in contemporary China. Participants study at the prestigious Sichuan University in China. WMU students earn 1 credits.

Students will visit major historical and industrial sites as well as high-tech research institutes in Chengdu China. The program includes lectures, lab visits, engineering field trips and engineering demonstrations. Experienced engineers and faculty members in Sichuan University will be invited to lecture on special topics and advanced engineering experience. The topics may cover engineering areas. Engineering field trips together with Chinese students in Sichuan University include a tour of more than 2000 years old irrigation system and world largest standing Giant Buda (more than 1000 years old) in Chengdu. Chinese folk dance, music and Chinese arts which will be arranged and provided by Sichuan University. WMU students will interact with Sichuan University students in the same class.

This program will allow students to explore global engineering opportunities and strengthen working skills with global engineering disciplines.

China is the world's most populous country, home to about 1.3 billion people. It is the second largest trading nation with about $1.3 trillion of foreign trade. Chengdu has a total population of 10.44 million. Sichuan University is one of China’s key universities.
