Republic Airways Pipeline Announcement
Posted by Reina Cooke on October 21, 2019
Republic Airways and WMU Aviation have finalized a Career Pipeline Interview Program Agreement that increases employment opportunities for WMU aviation graduates. Through this program, Republic Airways will grant interviews to WMU students who meet the qualifications and terms specified in the agreement. Republic Airways is committed to hiring the best talent in the aviation industry and these university partnerships provide an avenue to do that. Their company has selected WMU as a top aviation program.
“Republic Airways continues to be impressed by the accomplishments of the faculty, staff and students at WMU Aviation,” said Valerie Penn, Aviation Programs Lead at Republic Airways. “As we continue to put a larger emphasis on workforce development, partnerships like this, offer students a pathway to a stable career.” In addition to campus visits, mentorships, and event sponsorships, Republic has RJet Ambassadors who are current students on campus.
"We are very excited to officially announce this agreement," said Capt. Dave Powell, College of Aviation Dean. "We have had a long relationship with Republic Airways, and have always appreciated their partnership. The formalization of this agreement is a representation of the quality we both see in each other."
