Job: Northern Jet Management Line Technician/Aircraft Detailer

Position: Line Technician/Aircraft Detailer

Location: Grand Rapids, MI 

Responsibilities:

  • Load/unload cargo baggage up to 50 lbs. within confined areas by hand.
  • Provide hand/arm signals for arrival and departure of general aviation providing guide function for pilots.
  • Operate ground equipment, forklift, tug, etc.
  • Cleaning and servicing of various aircraft, including cabin interiors, aircraft windshields, draining lavatories, removing and installing cabin supplies.
  • Filling fuel truck from storage tanks; driving fuel truck
  • Fueling aircraft for various sized equipment with a hose weighing 50-60 lbs.
  • Towing aircraft as needed for positioning or stowing in hangars.
  • Connect/disconnect aircraft tow bars and equipment weighing 20+ lbs.
  • May be assigned to assist in monitoring security of facility.
  • May be assigned various routine cleaning of work areas, ramps and facilities with or without powered equipment, including snow removal of ramp areas.
  • Cleaning and servicing of various aircraft cabin interiors and exteriors.
  • Knowledge of aircrafts and type of products that are approved for use on each type of surface.
  • Wash and detail exterior and interior of cars.
  • Assist other departments when needed.
  • Facility cleaning to insure a clean and safe work area when working on aircraft.
  • Maintain high level of safety for personnel and aircraft.
  • Communication with other departments for schedule completions
  • Electronically enter work order and time data for billing purposes.
  • Track aircraft schedule via computer for work assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned to conduct business.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and ability to work a flexible shift including weekends, holidays and days-off.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Provide a high degree of customer service and ability to prepare customer paperwork as needed for services using basic math.
  • Ability to lift 50-60 lbs., climb a ladder, hold 25lb hose in bucket 10-15ft. in the air.
  • Ability to undergo a security threat assessment and criminal history records check for Airport Issued Identification Badges.
  • Submit to an initial drug test along with random drug and alcohol testing in order to comply with safety and company guidelines.
