Job: Purdue Flight Simulator Technician
Posted by Reina Cooke on May 1, 2019Purdue is reaching new levels in aviation training with the installation of the Hawker 900XP full flight simulator. The School of Aviation is seeking an experience Simulator Technician to support this new development. The role consists of independently perform installation, testing, modification, troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems and equipment. This includes video, television, telephone, fiber optic, or data cable equipment; electronic flight simulator equipment; two-way radios and pagers; public address systems; security or fire alarm equipment; card readers, and other electronic and control systems. The position would be required to ensure systems conform to required codes and standards and to provide technical support and knowledge to coworkers. May assign and prioritize workload, train staff and serve as lead.

Required:
- Associates or vocational degree
- Two or more years’ experience in flight simulators, electronic technologies, avionics or related
- Demonstrated ability to complete assigned tasks on time and with accuracy
- Proven ability to troubleshoot microprocessor based systems and preform system level troubleshooting with software programs and utilities
- Skilled in areas of customer service, written and verbal communication
- Ability to be a team player, contribute to problem solving and common goals
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Preferred:
- Associates degree in electronic technology, avionics or related
- Previous full flight simulator experience
