Pentastar Aviation Internship Program

Pentastar Aviation has developed an internship program to provide hands on experience with industry experts.  These positions will allow you to work closely with all levels in the organization to receive exposure to real world issues in aviation and what it takes to work in an environment that values safety, customer service, compliance, and the daily challenges in a corporate aviation company.  

Primary Departments could include: 

Flight Operations

Project title: OCC Intern

·       Help prepare flight packets for preflight briefing

·       Post flight trip closeout and regulatory record retention

·       Participate in shift checklist items including preparing for next day’s flying activities

·       Assist in training program administration and record retention for OCC personnel

·       Participate in trip set up and procuring air, ground, catering, lodging services for clients and crew

 

Maintenance Repair Station

Project title: Avionics/Maintenance/Interiors Intern 

·       Maintenance Control - inspection package build up, card organization, pre-planning, and parts and service ordering  

·       Maintenance Production - Support of data entry for scheduling and time tracking 

·       Engineering Production - Research for engineering production monitoring

·       Corridor - Future planning for Corridor implementation, process review and documentation

·       Aircraft Market - Research for training on different types of aircraft. What training would most benefit our current workforce?

·       Materials handling - Procurement, inventory control, tracking and auditing.

·       Inspection Department - Sorting, recording and updating pre and post work packages. Updating maintenance tracking programs and maintenance log entry processes.

 

Health, Safety and Environmental

Project Title: HSE Projects  

·       Review hazardous solvents and consumables in the FBO and MRO and investigate safer alternative solutions

·       Assist with development of a Maintenance Risk Assessment checklist 

·       Upgrade company-wide safety communications/promotional items.

·       Review Lockout/Tagout program and update processes and training to be more effective as needed. 

·       Update necessary HSE courses to match HSE manual updates. 

·       Investigate and develop basic 5S organization plan for facility materials, storage, etc. Misc. tasks such as internal audits, records upkeep, admin & support tasks

 

Charter Sales

Project title: Charter Intern

·       Introduce the intern to the external audits (process and the importance of ARGUS, IS-BAO, etc.)

·       Understand, review, and assist with ongoing efforts to bolster our approved vendors by means of communicating with specific vendors for their updated information.

·       Learn the charter sales workflow and develop an understanding from a business perspective the opportunities for a successful charter sales representative.

·       Bridge the gaps – understand how charter works with flight operations, marketing, finance/accounting, etc.

·       Experience our internally-developed customer survey process and recognize its objective.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have completed their junior year.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and internet required.

·       Excellent verbal and written skills required.  

·       Ability to compose concise, professional communication with excellent customer service required.

·       Outstanding teamwork skills are required.

·       May, on occasion, be required to accept direction from other team members in addition to the manager. 

·       Must possess a professional demeanor and use initiative and judgment in all confidential matters.

The successful candidates may spend time in more than one area of the Company. These positions are located in Waterford, MI.
