HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
As a Flight Operations (Aviation Management) intern, potential candidates will assist in achieving divisional goals and contributing to the overall success of Delta Air Lines. Interns will be assigned to a specific team such as but not limited to Line Operations, Flying Operations or the Chief Pilot Offices allowing individuals to expand their knowledge of Delta’s business strategies and core values While each individual intern will be assigned specific duties, all interns are expected to work together to complete a collaborative assignment that will be presented to Flight Operations Senior Leadership at the end of their semester.
Interns will have the opportunity to learn about other departments, such as but not limited to: Flight Safety, the Operations and Customer Center (OCC), Technical Operations, In-Flight Service and Airport Customer Service.
This is a paid internship, including additional privileges such as standby travel pass benefits worldwide within Delta’s route network while off duty. This position is based at Delta’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA and candidates will have a normal schedule of Monday-Friday, 0800-1700 ET.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an aviation management discipline
- Have a competitive GPA and be in good academic standing with your university
- Interested in utilizing their Aviation Management education to further better Delta and the aviation industry
- Demonstrate knowledge of airline route networks, fleets, pricing/revenue management, operational strategy, and aviation safety
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft business tools such as: Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Forms PowerPoint, in addition to web-based platforms such as Smartsheet
- Possess excellent communication skills and written skills, able to obtain solutions by building relationships with intra-division colleagues , and maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Is a self-starter, ability to multitask and an innovative thinker
- Is actively engaged and holds leadership positions within community and/or student organizations.
- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment by Delta Air Lines, Inc
