General Description:

At the direction of the Director of Maintenance, assist A&P mechanics performing inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance ensuring the safety, reliability and airworthiness of the Katmai Air fleet of aircraft.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Adhere and execute all Katmai Air operations and maintenance department policies and procedures
  • Perform aircraft maintenance functions meeting or exceeding all airworthiness standards in an efficient and effective manner, consistent with the rigorous scheduling demands of Katmai Air’s fleet
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by DM, Lead Mechanic, DO and or Chief Pilot

Required Qualifications:

  • Current FAA Airframe or Powerplant certificate
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Must own basic set of aircraft maintenance tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years professional aircraft maintenance experience 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be goal oriented, have an exceptional attention to detail, and work well in a team or individual work environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal form
  • Must be able to take instruction as well as offer goal oriented improvements 

Work Environment:

  • Anchorage Maintenance facility, various field locations as required.
  • Flexibility regarding hours of work as well as duty station assignment is required as needed to meet demands of the job.

Physical Requirements:

Intermittent physical activity including bending and reaching along with prolonged periods of sitting. Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds vertically through 4 feet, and maneuvering that load at arm’s length.
