Intern, Flight Operations: Aviation Management (Summer 2023)
HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
A Flight Operations (Aviation Management) intern will assist in achieving divisional goals and contributing to the overall success of Delta Air Lines. Interns will be working with a specific team such as but not limited to Line Operations or the Chief Pilot Office. While each intern will be assigned individual duties, all interns are expected to work as a team to complete a team assignment that will be presented to Flight Operations Leadership at the end of the semester.
Interns will have the opportunity to learn about other departments, such as but not limited to Flight Safety, Operations Customer Center, Technical Operations, In-Flight Service, and Airport Customer Service.
This is a paid internship, including additional privileges such as standby travel anywhere in the Delta system while off duty. Interns will work at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an aviation management discipline.
- Have a competitive GPA and be in good academic standing with your university.
- Should have aspirations of working in the field of Aviation Management.
- Demonstrate competency in skills that include, but are not limited to, collection and analysis of data, reading and summarizing new regulations, and the ability to problem solve quickly.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Forms PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
- Possess excellent communication skills, be able to process complicated issues quickly, and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Is a self-starter, ability to multitask, and is an innovative thinker.
- Is actively engaged with the community and/or student organizations. COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
- Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
- Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
- Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
