About Our Job

 This is an on-call , six-month internship.  This position is expected to work no more than 30 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits.

Program Goals:

  • Create a career ladder opportunity for interns to gain first-hand work experience relative to DEN’s business environment, mission, vision, and goals with the goal of convert-to-hire
  • Expose interns to the variety of career opportunities within the aviation industry
  • Empower interns to learn new job skills or improve on an existing skillset in a specific technical area(s)
  • Establish a professional mentorship relationship for interns and their mentors

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to experience:

  • Oversight of multiple projects
  • Assist in processing violation notices for the Violation Notice Program 
  • Leading, educating and training Airport ID badge holders on security programs/initiatives
  • Assist in the collection of data to help security management rate contract compliance
  • Preparing the Security video script for the video and training, coordinating the locations for the video shoot, and testing the video on the Interactive Employee Training and Learning Suite (IET-LS)
  • Reviewing reports, data entry, and other Rap Back subscription management tools to ensure compliance with the new federal regulations. 
  • Updates to the Badging Office website forms and information; updates to the Badging Office Brochures; and, QLess digital management queue updates and key performance metrics. 

About You

We are looking for candidates with some or all the following experience:

  • A current student seeking a bachelor's in Airport Operations, Aviation Management, and/or related field
  • An interest in Airport Security operations and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Technical computer skills
  • Good technical reading abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Education:   Current enrollment in an accredited college program leading to a certificate, licensure, associates, bachelor’s, or higher degree in, or a recent graduate (completed specified program within 1 year of completion)
  • Experience:  None
  • Licensures/Certification(s): None
  • Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
