This internship experience is designed to broaden the Intern’s overall knowledge and understanding of an aviation operating environment and include internships in the following areas:

  • Internal Audit
  • Information Technology

  • Airport Operations (Airside)
  • Planning and Development (Engineering)

  • Commercial Properties and Airline Affairs
  • Security
  • Safety
  • ATL Enforcement

Required Majors

Students selected for the internship will be from the following majors and matched appropriately to the relevant work areas: Aviation/Aviation Management, Public Administration, Business Administration (including: Accounting, Finance, Management, MIS, Real Estate, etc.), Computer Science, Criminal Justice, an Engineering discipline, Environmental Studies, Hospitality, Political Science, and/or other appropriate fields of study.

QUALIFICATIONS

Eligibility Requirements

  • An applicant must be currently attending an accredited college, university, community college or technical institute.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students must possess a 2.50 grade point average (GPA) or greater on a 4.0 scale at the time of application submission.
  •  Applicants must be able to provide a transcript within 24 hours of granting an interview and be able to supply a certified copy upon receiving an offer for hire.
  • Students must have completed their first year of college before beginning the internship.
  • Students must be registered for the Fall 2024 Semester
  •  Students must be able to successfully undergo an FBI fingerprint criminal history records check with no disqualifying crimes within the last 10 years. Additionally, the student must be able to pass a Security Threat Assessment that is conducted by the federal government.
  •  Students must appear in person for a security background check at least one month prior to the start date of the internship program (start date of 6/6/2024). Our security process is completed on-site at ATL (instructions provided) 
  • Must be able to commit to working for 8 weeks (6/6/2024 – 8/2/2024)

Aviation Summer College Internship Program selected participants will be paid $18.50/hour.
