Ready for an internship where you can apply your skills acquired in coursework into a real-world business setting? BISSELL is currently looking for a paid, part-time intern to work in our Corporate Aviation function, located at BISSELL’s hangar at Gerald Ford International Airport.
The individual in this role will serve as a vital team member within the Corporate Aviation function, reporting to the Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician. The intern will perform a variety of day-to-day tasks, as outlined below.
Ensure safe working environment in respect to aircraft maintenance, line operation
Provide recommendations for proper ground support equipment
Ensure hangar, stockroom and associated hanger rooms are clean, safe and secure
Minor hangar repairs
Snowplowing at the hangar and clearing sidewalks
Responsible for assisting in towing of aircraft in/out of hangar and fueling of aircraft
Handling arrivals and departures of aircraft
Loading and unloading passengers luggage
Aircraft interior cleaning before and after each flight
Washing passenger cars
Refill Fuel Truck
Janitorial services of facility
Assume other responsibilities as delegated by the Flight Crew/Senior Maintenance Tech.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate degree program in Aviation Science, Technology, Maintenance/Operations or a closely related field. 3.0 GPA or greater preferred
Valid Driver's License
High level of attention to detail
Desire to learn/improve skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lift heavy objects and equipment
Comfortable working in varying weather climates (snow, ice, rain, etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a team environment
