WMU College of Aviation Excellence in Diversity Award Winner - 2012

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation, for several years, has provided support and guidance to Western Michigan University's College of Aviation.  The W.K. Kellogg Foundation was instrumental in relocating the College of Aviation to Battle Creek in 1997, then known as the School of Aviation Sciences.  The Foundation has provided grant monies to establish a world renowned aviation program in Battle Creek, including grants dedicated to the outreach, recruitment and retention, and scholarships for under-represented groups in aviation.  Without the structure provided by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the College of Aviation's focus on diversity would not be as strong as it is today.  The Foundation believes that all children should have equal access to opportunity.  To make this vision a reality, they direct their grants and resources to support racial healing and to remove systemic barriers that hold some children back.  The generosity of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation will have a positive life-long impact on all of our students, faculty and staff.
