Michigan Business Aviation Association/Michigan Business Aviation Foundation
Hall of Honor Class of 2022
Aviation Advocacy Group and Philanthropic Organization
The Michigan Business Aviation Association (MBAA) has been a lifelong proponent of business aviation in the state of Michigan, with a mission to champion an environment that allows business aviation to thrive. The MBAA is dedicated to promoting and advocating for sufficient funding to preserve, develop and assure safety at Michigan Airports. The MBAA tirelessly works with state and local officials to improve the understanding of the importance of aviation to state’s economy and communities.
The Michigan Business Aviation Foundation (MBAF), formally the West Michigan Business Aviation Association (WMBAA) is a component of the MBAA and exists to support the next generation of business aviation professionals through educational and scholarship funding. WMBAA has generously offered pilot scholarships to aspiring WMU aviators since the early 1980’s. Their philanthropy continued throughout the years, under the guidance of the MBAF, and has evolved into countless scholarship opportunities for the College of Aviation students and instructors. College of Aviation students have been awarded cash scholarships for pilots and mechanics; and COA flight instructors have received initial type ratings offered through industry partners CAE and FlightSafety International.
Collectively, the MBAA/MBAF have made career defining contributions to generations of Bronco aviators and mechanics and are a welcome addition to the College of Aviation Hall of Honor.
