NAFA Corporate Aviation Business Scholarship

 The NAFA Corporate Aviation Business Scholarship was established to benefit university students seeking a business career in Corporate Aviation and, specifically, within the corporate aircraft Finance, Legal and Insurance community. 

This Scholarship is offered by the National Aircraft Finance Association (“NAFA”), and the amount of Scholarship funds to be made available each year, and for any one Scholarship winner, shall be determined annually by the NAFA Board of Directors. 

NAFA will accept applications from qualified applicants. All interested applicants must apply through their University’s Financial Aid office, and the University shall submit to NAFA, by no later than October 31st, a list of applicants meeting the NAFA Scholarship requirements. All NAFA Scholarship applications must be submitted to NAFA by the college/university, and not the student. APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED DIRECTLY BY STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

The NAFA Board shall approve all Scholarships to be awarded each year, and advise all Applicants through their University’s Financial Aid Office, by November 30th. 

NAFA is committed to providing Scholarships on an annual basis to worthy candidates. However, NAFA will be under no obligation to provide any Scholarships during any single calendar year. 

Award: Scholarships awards are monetary and may be from $1,000 to $5,000 in value.

 Qualifications: This award is available to Full-time, Undergraduate (Freshman through Senior) students (a minimum of 12 hours/semester) and Graduate Students. Students who are US Citizens or Permanent Residents are preferred. Applicants must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grade scale (High School GPA for Freshman applicants). 

National Aircraft Finance Association Scholarship Criteria 

Applicant eligibility:

  • Annual (must apply/reapply annually)

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident preferred

  • Student must be attending their College/University on a Full-Time basis

  • Acceptable student year:

    • Undergraduate: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior

    • Graduate: Masters/MBA & PhD

  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grade scale (High School GPA for Freshman Applicants)

Acceptable area(s) of study (major):

  • Focus on Aviation Business/Management, specifically in the areas of: Finance, Legal, and Insurance
  • Accounting
  • Business Marketing
  • Economics, and/or Finance

Eligibility & Selection Process:

  • All interested applicants shall apply through their College’s or University’s Financial Aid office

  • Each school shall submit to NAFA, by no later than October 31st, a list of applicants meeting the NAFA Scholarship requirements

  • NAFA Members are encouraged to nominate Colleges/Universities focusing on Acceptable Area(s) of Study

  • Board shall review Member recommendations and invite approved nominees to participate

  • For Applicants to be considered for Scholarship Award, College/University must have been approved by the Board prior to August 1 of that year
