WAI 2024 Scholarship Program
WAI Scholarship Application Requirements
Applicants for the WAI2024 scholarships must be a current members of Women in Aviation International (WAI) by October 1, 2023, and your membership must not expire before March 2024. You may apply for up to three scholarships.
Scholarships applications are only accepted through the WAI website via the new online portal. Once your application has been submitted, changes cannot be made to your application.
All applicants must submit the following:
- two (one-page) letters of recommendation—letters may not be from family members
- one 500-word essay focused on why a WAI scholarship will help you achieve your goals
- resume (no more than two pages)
- if applying for a flight training scholarship, please include copies of your aviation and medical certificates and the last three pages of your pilot logbook
- other applicable information as requested for each specific award/grant/scholarship
- These requirements are the minimum for all scholarships unless otherwise indicated. Please read the description thoroughly to make sure you meet all requirements.
Your essay should address the following:
- your name and contact information
- how a WAI scholarship will help you achieve your goals
- other applicable information as requested for each specific award/grant/scholarship
Resume should address the following:
- certificates already obtained, date, and flight hours completed (if applicable)
- work history or school studies
- educational scholarships, awards, and honors
- demonstrated involvement in aviation-related activities
Unless a scholarship description indicates that is is only available to U.S. residents, international WAI members may apply if they meet all other requirements.
2023 Scholarship applications must be submitted by October 12, 2023.
