The Green Wings Eco-Aviator Award!

Green Wings is dedicated to caring for the environment and our volunteers. This year Green Wings is offering its first scholarship to Eco-Aviators who are making a difference in their Aviation Community or with the Green Wings Ambassador Program. 2023 Award(s) will be in the amount of $2,500 per winner! An active Green Wings membership is required to apply. Applications are available by logging into your Green Wings Account. 

Examples of Making A Difference: 

• Tracking Reusable Water Bottle Refills
• Cleaning up a local Park and weighing the trash collected
• Organizing and/or attending a Green Wings Clean Up
• Logging the amount of you recycle each flight
• Documenting personal waste or carbon footprint reduction
• Tracking your fuel savings per flight with conservation practices like, descent optimization, single engine taxi and limiting APU use.
• Planning and Participating in the 2024 Spring Clean Up

Award Eligibility: 

1. Must be at least 18 years of age. 
2. Must be a Green Wings Member 
3. Flight School Student or Aviation Environmental Student, currently enrolled in Associate or higher degree program in Aviation/ Environment Studies / Sustainability or related field. 
4. Aviation or Environmental Professional working in Aviation / Environment / Sustainability or related field, requesting funding for a specific project. Includes all Aviation Related Employees (i.e. pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, ESG, etc...) 
5. Applicants must provide 3rd Party Distribution Contact Information for funds to be distributed for tuition or project funding. 

Application Includes:  

1. Verification of eligibility information 
2. Description of your environmental improvement impact in 2023 [such as; planning & execution of clean-ups, environmental restoration projects, on-line innovations or policies that increase fuel efficiency, reduces carbon footprint, or corporation waste production in regular operations, environmental education and outreach in your community, Green Wings Ambassador, or Green Wings volunteer participation.]

UPDATED - Application Deadline: April 20th, 23:59 Pacific Time.

Final number of 2023 Awards Available will be published no later than April 1st.
