2024 OBAP Scholarships

OBAP is dedicated to supporting minority interests and placement in aerospace careers. To date, OBAP has awarded nearly $7 million in scholarships to more than 500 diverse recipients nationwide. The scholarships, made available through strengthened partnerships with key carriers and aviation-related businesses, allow award recipients to advance or pursue diverse aviation-related careers.

Dreams 2 Careers "Private/Instrument Rating" 

  • Student Pilot/Private Pilot - Must have completed a discovery flight at a prospective flight training organization and provide point of contact and date of flight
  • Instrument Rating - Must have passed FAA Private Pilot practical exam and provide airman certificate and date of exam
  • Award Range: $2,500 - $5,000

  • Must have passed FAA Private Pilot and Instrument Rating practical exams and provide airman certificate and date of exams
  • Award Range: $2,500 - $5,000

Dreams 2 Careers "Advanced Rating (Commercial Multi-Engine/CFI/CFII/MEI)

  • Must have passed FAA Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Single-Engine practical exams and provide airman certificate # and date of exams
  • MEI candidates must have passed Commercial Multi-Engine practical exams and provide airman certificate and date of exams
  • Award Range: $2,500 - $5,000

Dreams 2 Careers "Aerospace Administration & Operations"

  • Must be currently enrolled in one of the following full-time programs or courses:
    •  Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Aviation Maintenance
    • FAA Air Traffic Controller
    • 14 CFR Part 65 Aircraft Dispatcher Certification
    • Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Science, or Aviation Management (2 year, 4 year, or Graduate)
    • National Transportation Safety Board Education (Human Factors, Accident Investigation & Forensics, etc.)
  • Award Range: $2,500 - $10,000
  • Must be a current or prospective student with a conditional acceptance offer and enrollment at the time of submitting an application
  • Must have passed FAA Private Pilot practical exam and provide airman certificate and date of exam
  • Must be actively pursuing Instrument, Commercial SE, Commercial ME, or Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII) flight ratings at Luke Weathers Flight Academy
  • Award Range: Full or Partial Scholarship based on the total amount of program costs at the time of application submission.
