Public Door Rates

Effective Monday, August 18, 2025. Entrance to either the Valley Dining Center or the Student Center Dining for a dine-in, all-you-care-to-eat meal may be purchased at the cashier stand of each location using debit/credit cards, mobile payments or Dining Dollars.

Are you visiting with a large group?

If you are interested in bringing a large group to campus and would like to feed your group a meal in the dining center, we appreciate at least 2 weeks advance notice!

How to Use the Faculty/Staff Discount

If full-time Faculty and Staff pay using Dining Dollars at a dining center cashier stand, they will be charged the "Dining Dollars Discount Rate" instead of the public door rate. In most cases, eligibility for this discount is determined by the group listed on your Bronco Card; Bronco Cards with "FACULTY/STAFF" listed are eligible. (Meals may also be purchased at the door by faculty or staff using other forms of payment, but the individual will be charged at the public rate listed at the top of the page.)

  • The Dining Dollar Discount rate is only available to faculty and staff and their guests when swiping their faculty/staff Bronco Card and paying with Dining Dollars.
  • Faculty and staff may bring guests into the dining center with them at the discounted rate as long as they (faculty/staff member) are also swiping and entering the dining center at the same time as their guest.
  1. Log into the BuyDining platform.
  2. Click on "Dining Dollars" from the bulleted list.
  3. Review the "Dining Dollars Terms and Conditions" before making any purchases.
  4. Click on "Add Dollars" and then enter the amount of Dining Dollars you would like purchase.
  5. Click "Buy Now" and you will be directed to the TouchNet purchasing platform. Please use a Visa®, MasterCard® or Discover® credit or debit card for your Dining Dollars purchase.

Departmental Meals Discount

WMU departments interested in purchasing meals for their employees may request a reloadable Department Dining Dollars Card to pay for meals at a discounted price from the dining center door rate!
  1. Call the Dining Services Office (269-387-4844) or send an email (ds-info@wmich.edu) to request a reloadable Department Dining Dollars Card.
  2. Choose how many Dining Dollars to get loaded onto the card which can be used to pay for meals from the dining centers at your discretion. The current departmental rate is:
    1. $9 per breakfast 
    2. $13 per lunch/dinner 
  3. Pick up the Department Dining Dollars Card from Dining Services' office, room 3409 in the Administration Suite on the third floor of the Student Center; the card is active immediately. 
  4. Departments are billed by Fund/Cost Center in June and December for the number of Dining Dollars used in the prior six months. 
  5. Reload as needed by contacting Dining Services via phone or email.

Where can the departmental discount be used?

The Departmental Meals Discount is redeemable at the Valley Dining Center or Student Center Dining. The Department Dining Dollars Card can also be used at Campus Cafés or Mi Pi, Fuego Verde and ReFresh Market, but no discount is available for these locations.
