Dr. Brian Horvitz is an associate professor educational leadership, research and technology at Western Michigan University, specializing in educational technology. He earned a Ph.D. in instructional systems technology from Indiana University and has M.S. degrees from Indiana and from the University of Pennsylvania. Horvitz teaches educational technology courses including technology for elementary education, introduction to educational technology, and creating online courses. His research interests include online teaching in higher education, the use of technology in teaching in higher education, and preparation of pre-service teachers to integrate technology in learner-centered classrooms using a mixed-methods approach. Prior to joining WMU, Horvitz was an instructional designer and human performance specialist in private industry.
